Born in Vancouver, Canada,
Stephan Laks finished his professional training at The Juilliard School in New York, under the direction of Benjamin Harkarvy and Lawrence Rhodes. As a dancer he has worked with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal, Gothenburg Opera Ballet, and Bern Ballet, performing and creating the works of Stijn Celis, Jiri Kylian, Nicolo Fonte, Ohad Naharin, Tero Saarinen,
Adi Salant, Didy Veldman, and Christopher Wheeldon, among others. Stephan also creates and produces works for
Portland-based Rumpus Room Dance.
