DANCERS : REED LUPLAU
 

Reed Luplau was born in Perth, Australia.  Reed commenced training at the age of eighteen months at his mother’s studio, the Jody Marshall Dance Company, studying Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics, Ballet an Musical Theatre. In 2002, he was accepted into The Australian Ballet School, where he completed Year 12 VCE and an Advanced Diploma in Dance. Reed was invited to join Sydney Dance Company in 2005 by Artistic Director's Graeme Murphy and Janet Vernon.  With SDC, he performed in Stephen Petronio's Underland,  Graeme Murphy's Grand, Hua Mulan, The Director's Cut, Berlin and Ever After Ever.   In 2008 - Meryl Tankards Inuk 2, Rafael Bonachelas 360 and Aszure Barton's Sids Waltzing Masquerade.  Reed recently won Best Male Dancer of the year for his performance in Ms. Barton’s work at the annual Australian Dance Awards. Reed was also nominated and received several other awards including 2008 Australian Dance Awards for Best Male Dancer, 2007 Green Room Awards Best Male Dancer, and Qantas SOYA Awards Best New Dance Talent.   Sydney Dance Company commissioned Reed to choreograph two short works in 2007 - Misguided and in  2008 -  GO!.  Reed represented Australia, as a soloist, in the NBC hit TV Show 'Superstars of Dance' produced by Nigel Lythgoe. Reed is completely thrilled to be working with the family of Aszure Barton & Artists.
