Charlaine Katsuyoshi is from Kailua, Hawaii.
After Graduating from Iolani School in 1994, she left Hawaii to attend the University of California at Irvine. In three years, Charlaine graduated Cum Laude earning her BFA. Ms. Katsuyoshi appeared in Newline Cinema’s Film “Blade” starring Wesley Snipes, and the TV series Fame LA. In 1997, Charlaine joined MOMIX, under the direction of Moses Pendleton. From 1999 to 2006, Charlaine danced with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago under the direction of Lou Conte, and later Jim Vincent. Charlaine played the role of the Cheetah in Disney’s Broadway Musical “The Lion King” from 2006 to 2008.
In 2008, she danced with the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, taking part in the 40th Anniversary Season. Charlaine began working with Ms. Barton (as both dancer and assistant) in 2009.
